iSimangaliso/Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park to Cape Vidal (world heritage site, 5 minutes)
iSimangaliso is a beautiful Park with vegetated sand dunes of different colours and you have amazing views over Lake St Lucia and the Atlantic Ocean. You can meet the rhinocerous, hippos, waterbuck, kudu, hyena, leopard, zebra , a variety of birds and a lot of other small animals. You can drive in iSimangaliso using your own or you could book a guided tour through the park.
St Lucia Estuary boat cruises
By boat you see hippos, crocodiles and a wide variety of birds like fish eagles, the Goliath heron and other birds. Mangrove swamps line the shores of the St Lucia Estuary

The iSimangaliso Wetland Park is one of the few places in Africa where you can witness one of the oldest of nature's rituals, turtle nesting and hatching. From October to March/April the giant leather back and loggerhead come ashore on the beaches to lay their eggs.
During the months June to November, Humpback whales pass along the coastline of the Elephant Coast and St Lucia during their annual migration from their feeding grounds in the Antartic, past South Africa, to breed and calve off the coasts of Mozambique and Madagascar.
